UUID / GUID Generator

Create universally unique identifiers (UUIDs) with one click.

Generate universally unique identifiers in the browser with configurable versions, formatting preferences, and export options. Each batch runs through a collision scan so you ship IDs with confidence.

Key points

Crypto-strength identifiers

Choose between timestamped (v1), random (v4), or time-ordered (v7) UUIDs backed by the uuid library and Web Crypto.

Batch-friendly output

Generate up to 100 IDs per batch, toggle uppercase or hyphenless formatting, and export them as a newline-separated list.

Collision awareness

Every batch is scanned for duplicate values so you can immediately regenerate if entropy was insufficient.
Select version

Current batch

Generate a batch to see UUIDs formatted according to your preferences. We display suspicious values in red if they do not resemble valid identifiers.

  2. Step 2

    Generate a batch

Set the quantity, click Generate, and review the highlighted list. Copy everything or download a text file for handoff.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between v1, v4, and v7 UUIDs?
Version 1 includes a timestamp and node identifier, v4 is entirely random, and v7 combines a Unix timestamp prefix with random bits for chronological sorting. Pick the version aligned with your storage or database requirements.
Does the generator store my UUIDs?
No. Everything happens in your browser. Share links optionally embed your generated IDs in the URL so review them before sending them externally.
How reliable is the collision checker?
Collisions are extremely rare with proper randomness, but we still compare the batch to surface duplicates immediately. Regenerate the batch if you see any flagged entries.

UUID collisions are extraordinarily unlikely but theoretically possible. Always validate identifiers before using them in production systems and avoid embedding sensitive information in shared URLs.
